In February of 2006 God laid on my heart the idea of opening my own quilt shop. I have always been a stay at home mom and wife and the idea of going to work every day was definitely a new one!  I have always loved sewing and I was introduced to quilting in early 2001.  I was hooked!  I couldn't make quilts fast enough!  I loved piecing and quilting them by hand and I was glad for a way to share my new passion with others.

My younger son was in college at that time earning a degree in business, and since I was paying for that education I thought I should get some benefit from it!  So I picked his brain and he helped me with some of the basic details. 

The most important thing was that I should have a partner.  So I began praying about it and Julie was clearly the right choice!

In April of 2006 we incorporated and officially became The Quilt Room, Inc.  We were off!  Now we had to find a spot to put this shop and some fabric, notions, patterns and books to fill it! 

August 7, 2006 we opened our doors for the first time to the public and the rest, as they say, is history!  We love what we do and are so grateful for the friends we have made along the way!
